Maintenance

As a competent fire protection company we offer a high standard of service. We will service and maintain your fire equipment above and beyond expectations without compromise, we carry out regular checks on your equipment to make sure you meet with the relevant British Standards.

As part of our maintenance contract we will call you annually to arrange a convenient time and date to visit your premises and carry out the routine service.

We are always on hand if you require any further assistance or need our expertise with regards to any aspect of fire safety.

The responsible person should ensure that extinguishers, gas cartridges and replacement charges are inspected, serviced and maintained regularly. Servicing and recharging procedures should be carried out by a competent person capable of conducting them according to the recommendations of BS:5306-3:2003.

We service extinguishers on a annual maintenance contract this is classed as a basic service and in addition to this we also carry out extended services when necessary. It is recommended that regular visual inspections of all extinguishers be carried out by the user or user's representative. The frequency of inspections by the user should be no less than monthly and, when circumstances require, inspections should be carried out more frequently.

 

Training

Our training program uses a CD-Rom series called 'Fire Awareness in the Workplace'.

The CD-Rom covers areas such as:

  • Who is responsible to ensure the work place is safe from fire and its effects.
  • Understanding the nature of fire, the fire triangle, fire growth and development and fire spread.
  • Portable fire extinguishers and how to choose the correct extinguisher to use.
  • Fire signage what signs mean and how to use them.
  • Fire hazards gives the user the opportunity to visit a 3D office and identify the fire hazards.
  • Discovering a fire - this section explains what action to take in the event of finding a fire.
  • Taking the test - each employee that carries this out will sit a test of 20 questions and after successfully completing this they will be able to print out a certificate.
